Listen, observe feel and do, are the four key elements Paul uses to create and play spontaneous music. Cited as one of the 100 best jazz flautists of all time (, Paul’s 4 decades of playing the flute have made him a true master of the instrument. Music is the one language that spoke directly to his heart. At 19 a friend gave him a concert flute. He says “It felt like a great home-coming and I knew at that moment this was my vocation”. Since then Paul has played professionally in many styles, including Jazz, Indo-Jazz Fusion, Arab, Indian, and Classical.

Paul trained at the Guildhall School of Music London under Professor Rainer Schuelein. He has 43 CDs published by Northstar music UK, 5 major films; including EMMA award winning ‘6th Happiness’ and ‘Hideous Kinky’. Best Foreign film winner in 2007 ‘In The Place of the Dead’. Many DVDs & documentaries: BBC 2’s Egyptian Journeys by Dan Cruickshank, ‘The Painter and the Musician’ and Out-OF-Tune.

Having played for over 44 years, Paul is still excited to discover new sonic textures and music with his flutes. The beauty of playing is that there really is no end.
